New Ulm – Voting for businesses of 2025 of the year closed at 6:30 pm on Thursday during the annual meeting of the new Ulm Chamber.
An hour after the vote closed the winners were introduced to Minelesota Valley Funeral Home taking small business of the year and Jensen Motors winning big business of the year.
House members were asked to appoint businesses for this recognition based on three criteria: room involvement, community involvement and economic impact.
Award the small business was accepted by the Funeral Home Home Home Valley (MVFH) Eric Warka manager. After learning MVFH received the award, he assured the audience that the vote was not manipulated and that his wife Sarah Warka, the president, had nothing to do with the vote.
“It means more to us than you understand,” Said warm. “Truly indeed an honor to serve this community and to be recognized in this light from the room.”
Jensen Motors receives the 2025 big business price of the year. General managers Ben Jensen and Nicole Jensen-Briggs accepted the award for Jenson Motors. Thanked the business community for the award and support of Jensen Motors. Ben Jensen said they were proud to be part of New Ulm. Warmka congratulated other small business candidates, Schaefer Crane and inspired.
“As prominent community business leaders, I want to thank them for the tireless work they do.”
Warmka said the price represented 96 years of tireless work by the Funeral Home Funeral of Minnesota.
“It takes more than the stubborn Germans to keep a collaborator alive, and for that, I want to thank every employee and member of the board who has been part of the Minnesota Valley over the years,” Said warm.
He said that every member of the funeral staff brings compassion, professionalism and empathy in their work every day.
“I am very proud to work with each of these individuals and I am grateful for their contributions to our success,” Said warm.
Warmka said the community is blessed to have one of the last remaining cooperative burial houses across the country and is the Minelesota Valley’s Funeral Home Mission to be a community service. He said the community was important for the work of Funeral Home Funeral Valley.
“In the time of grief and loss, it is the support and kindness of our community that provides comfort and comfort to those who are sad.”
Ben Jensen and Nicole Jensen-Briggs accepted the big business price of the year on behalf of Jensen Motors.
Ben Jensen congratulated other business candidates, Nuvera and J&R Schugel.
“Everyone deserves this award and you are all winner in our book,” He said.
Jensen-Briggs praised the entire new ULM business community. She told a story of how she grew up in New Ulm and left after graduation, but returned after realizing that New Ulm was where she wanted to be. She has heard similar stories from others. It credited local businesses to help make New Ulm a great community.
“This is a city in which people want to return,” Jensen-Briggs said.
Ben Jensen thanked the entire new Ulm community for their support since they created Jensen Motors in 1988.
“New Ulm is an amazing business city and families alike and we are so proud to be part of it,” He said.
Ben Jensen also thanked all their employees in Buick GMC, Tunnel Car Wash and Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram.
“Mimi is a reflection of the customer service you offer every day,” He said. “From sales to service, parts and car wash we are so grateful to them, as well as all our customers for your loyalty.”
Jensen said Jenson Motors will continue to support the community and provide the types of vehicles needed by the community.
