Apple’s product launch team is having the first trimmed trimmed 2025. Now that the iPhone 16e has been discovered, the community is looking at the MAC lineup, waiting for Tim Cook and its team to finally drop a MacBook Air with the latest Apple Silicon M4 chips.
With two models that now appear on online comparison tools, not only is the beginning approaching, but we also know a little more about the possible performance of macos customers.
BenchMarking on MacBook Air M4
Data for the next MacBook Air, which is expected to be the first to be equipped with Apple’s M4 chips, come from the ever -popular geekbench tool.
It shows the “Mac 16.2” model (which is widely known as the next 13 -inch MacBook Air) that easily exceeds MacBook Air equipped with M3, even if you assume there is still any software optimization that will be made in front of a Late-Q1 2025 release potential. The “MAC 16.3” model is also compared, and is known as the next 15-inch MacBook Air.
Standard data show for the hardware being tested, which comes with a 10-core version of the M4 chipset; 8-Core and 9-Core versions are also available. This may mean that any MacBook Air will come with the 10-core version, but it is more likely that this will be a higher variant in the range, with an 8- or 9-core version available at a price point lower. Apple, after all, has sought to maintain the $ 999 MacBook’s access level, which could be easier to reach with a lower specified chipset.
Thermal Borders of MacBook Air M4
Unless, these early standards show an advantage to previous MacBook Air -fitted models. They also show that the MacBook Pro -M4 power model will have an advantage to the M4 MacBook Air.
This has happened since it was launched as Apple’s first Silicon for Macos Macos Macbook Air and M2 MacBook Pro. While both used the same chipset, the Pro model was equipped with a fan to calm the chipset, allowing the fastest performance at longer periods due to improved thermal efficiency.
This was true for M2 and M3 models, and there is no reason to think that M4 decisions will change.
The most significant profits on the show are on GPU. Metal benchmarking and Opencl suggests an increase in performance of over 30 percent. For customers looking for a laptop that offers strong graphic performance, the M4 MacBook Air can be laptop they are looking for. However, it remains to be seen whether this GPU performance can be maintained or whether it is a short -term shock before thermal issues require a silicone stroke.
Benefits of the old MacBook Air Specifications
Although Apple launched the first M1 chips with MacBook Air, it will be one of the last lines of Apple products to start an M4 version. M4 was launched in May 2024, and the iPad Pro was the first to send with it. M4 Pro and M4 Max followed in November 2024 within the MacBook Pro and Mac Mini.
Now we are approaching ten months after debuting M4. Given the annual cycle in which Apple seems to be setting, the MacBook Air will stay current for just weeks before a possible M5 departure around the Apple World or June Conference.
This should be balanced with the power and performance that Apple Silicon has been able to constantly give the first discovery in November 2020 MacBook Pro.
As a daily driver, the lowest but still significant power available on MacBook Air is enough for most customers. Even if Apple’s silicone is almost one year old, it meets consumer expectations and undoubtedly helps Apple maintain a healthy profit difference on its well -known Maco laptop.
